    • Obituary: 27 Sep 2007; GORHAM -- Rodney Willard Hunt, 80, of Gorham, died peacefully on Sept. 25, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Orange, Mass., on June 7, 1927, the child of Donald Ellis Hunt and Evelyn Rose (Willard) Hunt. He attended schools in Massachusetts, including college in Worcester. Mr. Hunt proudly served his country during World War II as a U.S. Navy Seebee in the Pacific Theatre of War. In July of 1950, he married Doris Theresa Gardner. He moved his family Portland in 1969. For many years, Rodney worked as a Quality Control Manager for Digital. In August of 1994, he married Leanna Jane Breedlove and lived together in Scarborough prior to residing in Gorham. Rodney was very active in Freemasonic activities. He was a dual member in Saccarappa Lodge #86 in Westbrook and Deering Lodge #183 in Portland. He was also a member of Deering Chapter #59 Order of the Eastern Star along with his wife and many other Masonic affiliations. Mr. Hunt is predeceased by his first wife, Doris in 1968; a step daughter, Vicki Navarro in 2001; and a brother, Lawrence Hunt, who died in January of 1945 during WWII. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Hunt; daughters Donna Gooch of Hollis, Denise Hunt-Cox of Biddeford Pool and Darlene Morton of Casco; a stepdaughter, Kathy Breedlove of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A Masonic Service will be held on Saturday morning, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Rts. 202 and 4A (13 Portland Road) in Buxton. Following the Masonic Ritual, a funeral service will be officiated by Wor. Lawrence Wescott at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Meeting House Hill Cemetery in Hollis. www.dcpate.com.
