She studied Enterostomal Therapy or Ostomy Care at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo New York. Her nursing career was varied: in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and home care. For the last twenty five years of working, she specialized in Ostomy and Wound Care Nursing. She went to EI Salvador three times with a group of Eye Doctors and Dentists as an assistant in the Site and Bite Clinics they provided for people in two small towns. She also went to EI Salvador with another group to visits schools and families at home. Since retiring she has enjoyed swimming, gardening, and learning to quilt. She was an active volunteer with many Farmington, groups, First Church Congregational 1652, the Friends of the Libraries, Library Board, Land Trust, Food Pantry, and the American Red Cross."
