• Obituary: 2 Nov 2016; Mary Doris (Nunes) Shepardson, of Buzzards Bay, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Royal Cape Cod Nursing Home in Bourne. She was the wife of the late Harry Elliott Shepardson. Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Antonia (Andrade) Nunes. Mrs. Shepardson enjoyed traveling and was a parishioner at Holy Cross Church. She retired from the United States Post Office then moved to Bourne where she enjoyed crafts and quilting with the Bourne Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the Bourne Womens Club and active member at St. Margarets Church. She is survived by children, Ann Morin and her husband Alain of Florida, Paul P. Shepardson of Buzzards Bay, Joan B. Bucklin and her husband Peter of Oregon, John M. Shepardson of Bourne, Mary Lou Burlingame and her husband Donald of Upton; and a brother, Joseph P. Nunes of Harwich Port and Florida; and 9 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Barbara Taylor, and mother-in-law of the late Cathy Shepardson. Visitation is Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Margarets Church, 141 Main St., Buzzards, MA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
