• Obituary: say 22 Jun 2016; Obituary for Eleanor D. Chicoine Eleanor D. Chicoine, 84, resident of Gardner, MA died on June 20, 2016 at UMASS Medical Center, Worcester, after a period of declining health. She was born on January 16, 1932, in Fitzwilliam, NH a daughter of the late John and Doris (Shepardson) Rathburn. Eleanor was raised and educated in the Fitzwilliam, Rindge and Jaffrey area and graduated from Conant High School. She held many jobs over her working years, for most of those years she worked for Simplex as a time stamp ribboner. She also worked as a nurse’s aid in Gardner for a few years. Eleanor enjoyed time spent with her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren. She loved being outdoors and always could be found in her garden tending to what was growing at that particular time of year. In addition to her parents and siblings Eleanor was predeceased by a grandchild. Survivors include her husband, Edward Chicoine of Gardner, her children; Sylvia Chicoine of Gardner, John and Lisa Chicoine of Milford, MA, Kenneth and Lisa Chicoine of North Carolina, a brother, Walter Hood of Rindge, NH and a sister Oloose Rathburn of Northfield, MA and many niece’s nephews and cousins. Services: In accordance with her wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Hillside Cemetery, Rindge, NH.
