  John B Anderson, 89 ATHOL John B. Anderson, 89 of 399 Silver Lake St., died Monday, June 21, 2004, in Walden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Concord, MA. He was born on February 6, 1915, in Petersham, son of John A. and Alice (Barnes) Anderson. He was a machinist for 36 years at the L. S. Starrett Co. He leaves a daughter, Janice Gross of Athol, a brother, Edwin C. Anderson of Petersham, a sister Edith Mara of Oxford, two grandsons, Eric Coolidge of Conmack, NY and Peter Coolidge of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and 3 great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanette (Berry) Anderson, who died in 1967 and his second wife, Nellie L. (Waid) Anderson who died in 1998, and a daughter Carol Anderson, a brother Carl W. Anderson and three sisters, Pearl Whitcomb, Marion Crimmins, and Alice Marold. He resided many years in Petersham and Athol. Mr. Anderson served in the United States Navy in World War II. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 2 P.M. in the Petersham Orthodox Congregational Church, 21 North Main Street. Burial will be in East Cemetery. Calling hours at the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, will be on Wednesday from 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer?s Assoc. of Eastern MA, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140 or to the Masonic Home, Masonic Hill Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
