William Emery Johnson was born on 1 October 1860 at Warwick, Massachusetts.3 He was the son of Stephen Johnson Jr. and Betsey Rebecca Shepardson.1,2,3 William Emery Johnson was nick named Willie.4 He was listed in the household of Stephen Johnson Jr. and Betsey Rebecca Shepardson in 1880 US Census at Warwick, Massachusetts.4 On 15 October 1885 at Springfield, Massachusetts, William married Nellie Augusta Hawkes, daughter of John Washburn Hawkes and Mary Ann Williams.1,3 William Emery Johnson died on Monday, 5 March 1934 at Winchester, New Hampshire, at age 73 years, 5 months and 4 days after several years of illness.1,5 The gravestone inscription at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Massachusetts, reads:
