Gage.1 On 21 October 1876 Sumner married Mary Catherine Shepardson, daughter of Simon Peter Shepardson and Sarah Caroline Trim.1 Sumner Wallace Field and Mary Catherine Shepardson appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Wendell, Massachusetts.2 Sumner Wallace Field died on Sunday, 31 December 1922 at Orange, Massachusetts, at age 69 years, 1 month and 30 days.3
