Rathburn was born on 17 July 1930 at Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of John Rathburn and Doris Mary Shepardson.1 He served in the Army during the Korean War.1 On 11 November 1960 at West Rindge, New Hampshire, John married Sylvia Linnea Truelson, daughter of Arthur Lauritz Truelson and Linnea Annetta Wilson.2 John K. Rathburn died on Thursday, 14 April 2005 at Monadnock Community Hospital, Petersborough, New Hampshire, at age 74 years, 8 months and 28 days.1
