Clifton Hugh Dexter was born on 5 September 1921 at Lebanon, New Hampshire.4,2 He was the son of Waldo Dexter and Ruth Adelaide Wetmore.1,2,3 On 10 September 1941 at Woodsville, New Hampshire, Clifton married Bernice Leone Estes.5 He joined the U.S. Army on 5 June 1944 and was sent to Europe. There as a Scout Leader, he participated in the Normandy Break Through, the capture of Brest, the battle of the Hurtgen Forest, the crossing of the Rhine, and the crossing of the Elbe, all with the 8th Division. He ended the war as a sergeant.1 Clifton Hugh Dexter died on Wednesday, 4 June 1997 at Grafton, New Hampshire, at age 75 years, 8 months and 30 days.4
