Philander Pierce was born on 21 April 1821.1 He was the son of Joshua Pierce and Lucy Delvee.1 On 18 January 1844 Philander married Mary Hill.1 Philander Pierce appeared on the US Census of 1850 at Warwick, Massachusetts.2 Philander married Elizabeth unknown.3 Philander Pierce and Elizabeth unknown appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Northfield, Massachusetts.3 Philander Pierce died on Tuesday, 8 September 1903 at age 82 years, 4 months and 18 days.1 The gravestone inscription at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Massachusetts, reads:
