     [Tribe of Calvin]. Elizabeth Delva Gibbs was born on 1 May 1914 at Orange, Massachusetts.1,2 She was the daughter of William H. Gibbs and Mable E. Higgins.1,2 Elizabeth Delva Gibbs graduated in 1932 from Orange High School.1 She graduated from Fitchburg Teachers College with a BS in Elementary Education.1 On 14 June 1938 at the Baptist Church, Petersham, Massachusetts, Elizabeth married Pershing A. Hough.3 She taught at the Gale Brooks School in North Orange as well as serving as a local reporter for the Union-News and the Republican.1 Elizabeth Delva Gibbs lived at Orange, Massachusetts. According to her obituary, she was "a lifetime member of the Orange Historical Society, she served on the publicity committee for many years. She also belonged to the Orange Senior Citizens and the national, Massachusetts and Franklin County Retired Teachers Associations, along with the Fitchburg State College Alumni Association. ... She enjoyed piano, embroidery, birds, music an d knitting.1" She died on Sunday, 30 July 2000 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare Center, Athol, Massachusetts, at age 86 years, 2 months and 29 days of cancer.1
