     Richard Carlton Whitney was born on 17 June 1916. He was the son of Glenn Elmer Whitney and Eleanor F. Roberts. On 31 August 1940 at Westfield, Massachusetts, Richard married Winifred Reed, daughter of Spencer A. Reed and Frances L. McIntire. During World War II, he was a 2ed Lt. in the Army serving in Germany.1 Richard Carlton Whitney and Winifred Reed moved to Keene, New Hampshire, about 1957.2 Richard Carlton Whitney died on Tuesday, 19 December 2006 at Banner Hospital, Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona, at age 90 years, 6 months and 2 days.3
