Wayne McKay
     Wayne Kidder McKay was born on 20 December 1920 at Franklin, Venango County, Pennsylvania.2,1 He was the son of Clyde McKay and Lucy Delva Smith.1 On 23 January 1943 at Orange, Massachusetts, Wayne married Shirley E. Johnson.3,1 Wayne joined the Army Air Corps on April 5, 1943 and was Honorably discharged on March 4, 1946. He had served at Gulfport, Mississippi; Champagne, Illinois; Pratt, Kansas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Miami Beach, Florida, during World War II.1 Wayne Kidder McKay lived in December 2001 at Orange, Massachusetts.4 According to his obituary, "Wayne was a mechanical technician for Erving Paper Mills for seven years. He previously worked for the House of Paper 15 years and for American Greetings for 39 years. He had previously lived in Corbin, KY and while there, was on a bowling team and a member, Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent of the Central Baptist Church of Corbin, as well as a member of the church's choir. While living in California, Wayne was a coach and manager for the "Indians" of Mar Vista Little League in Los Angeles and took first place for the season, and a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent of the Venice Baptist Church, also in Los Angeles. He had also been a choir member of Grace Baptist Church in North Olmstead, Ohio for awhile. When he moved to Orange, he joined the Singing Men of Athol. He enjoyed bowling, singing, gardening, playing Hawaiian and Spanish guitars.1" He died on Tuesday, 12 June 2007 at Charlene Manor, Greenfield, Massachusetts, at age 86 years, 5 months and 23 days.1 Wayne was buried in June 2007 at Pine Hill Cemetery, Corbin, Kentucky.1
