Charles Samuel Brigham was born on 8 September 1846 at Erving, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Charles Brigham and Sarah Ann Delvee.1 He enlisted 1 August 1862 in the 21st Regiment Massachusetts Volunteers, Company K as a drummer boy. He was wounded in the thigh 17 September at the battle of Antietam.1,2 Charles Samuel Brigham died on Saturday, 27 September 1862 at Antietam, Washington County, Maryland, at age 16 years and 19 days He was said to be buried at Fredrecksburg, Virginia but there are no records to prove this. His name appeas on an oblisk in the Erving cemetery.1,2
