     Grace Maud Ballou was born on 5 February 1898 at Wendell, Massachusetts.1 She was the daughter of William Herbert Ballou and Maude Nellie Stiles.1,2 Grace Maud Ballou died on Thursday, 3 October 1918 at Salem, Massachusetts, at age 20 years, 7 months and 28 days of broncho-pneumonia brought on by the Spanish flu. Coffins were in such short supply that her brother, Cecil, bought one in Orange, and took it to Salem, riding on it in the baggage car of the train.1 Grace was buried at Central Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts.1
