Audrey Inez Herndon was born on 10 December 1911.2 She was the daughter of Charles Herndon and Laura Grover.1 On 14 June 1930 at Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, Audrey married Clarence Ernest Ballou, son of William Herbert Ballou and Maude Nellie Stiles. He met her while she was walking home from work and he was on his beat.1,2,3 According to Betty-Sue Pratt (1997), "I remember my Momma as a quiet, pretty woman. She was plump, had gorgeous auburn wavy hair.1" Audrey Inez Herndon died on Sunday, 24 September 1939 at Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, at age 27 years, 9 months and 14 days.2 Audrey was buried at the West Evergreen Cemetery, Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.1
