In 1946, he was honorably discharged.2 On 8 May 1947 at Yankton, Yankton County, South Dakota, Milford married Jean Euretta Sheldon. Hochhalter (1998) gives their marriage date as 12 May 1946.4,3 Milford Slagle lived in 1982 at Volin, South Dakota.5 He died on Thursday, 24 September 1998 at Yankton, Yankton County, South Dakota, at age 79 years, 1 month and 5 days from cancer.3,2 Milford was buried on 28 September 1998 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton, Yankton County, South Dakota.2
