     Gloria Cleone Slagle was born on 2 October 1925 at Newcastle, Dixon County, Nebraska.1,3,2 She was the daughter of Levy Price Slagle and Emma Belle Boardman.1,2 She grew up in the Aten, Nebraska area and attended school there.2 According to her obituary, after her marriage "she lived in Yankton where she worked at Gurney's Seed and Nursery for many years. Later, she became an insurance agent for Valley State Bank and then worked as a secretary and real estate agent for Dennis Mitchell. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Yankton Fire Department Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose. Gloria loved to travel and went on many trips all over the United States. She also loved to read, crochet and do all kinds of needlework."2 Gloria Cleone Slagle died on Tuesday, 25 January 2005 at Wakonda Heritage Manor, Wakonda, Clay County, South Dakota, at age 79 years, 3 months and 23 days.2 Gloria was buried on 28 January 2005 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton, Yankton County, South Dakota.2
