Richard Coolidge Kelton D.V.M. was born on 13 June 1902 at Brookline, Massachusetts.1,4,2,3 He was the son of George Howard Kelton and Ruth Sarah Coolidge.1,2,3 About 1933 Richard married Elsie M. Haubenreiser, daughter of Albert Haubenreiser and Elsa unknown.1,5 According to his obituary: "Dr. Kelton graduated from North High School, Worcester, in 1920 and Stockbridge School of Agriculture, now part of the University of Massachusetts, in 1928. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia in 1948. Dr. Kelton was a foreman at a textile mill in Slatersville from 1928 to 1932. He was then a farm manager in Sharon, Scotland, Conn. and Bolton. After graduating from veterinary school, he as an intern in Bedford, Pa., and at Rowley Memorial Hospital in Springfield. Dr. Kelton then established his private practice out of his home. It also stated, "He helped people of limited income afford health care for their animals.1 Richard Coolidge Kelton D.V.M. died on Thursday, 20 February 1997 at at home, Holden, Massachusetts, at age 94 years, 8 months and 7 days.1,4,2
