     Holman Hugh Whitaker was born on 30 November 1906 at Gill, Massachusetts.2,1 He was the son of Charles Herbert Whitaker and Orra May Hale.1 On 27 August 1928 at Bernardston, Massachusetts, Holman married Helen Rachel Hastings, daughter of Luther M. Hastings and Lottie Hale. The obituary of Helen states that their marriage was the 28th.1,3,4 Holman Hugh Whitaker died on Wednesday, 16 January 1985 at Franklin County Medical Center, Greenfield, Massachusetts, at age 78 years, 1 month and 17 days.2,1,3,4 According to his obituary "He attended Gill and Bernardston schools. he worked at Lynn Wyatt's Store for 19 years and at the Bernardston Grain Mill for 14 years.1" Holman was buried on 18 January 1985 at Center Cemetery, Bernardston, Massachusetts.1
