Ruth Irene Whitaker was born on 25 March 1910 at Gill, Massachusetts.1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Herbert Whitaker and Orra May Hale.1,2 Ruth Irene Whitaker graduated in 1928 at Bernardston, Massachusetts, from the Powers Institute.2 She graduated in 1930 from the Fitchburg Normal School.2 On 22 June 1932 at Bernardston, Massachusetts, Ruth married Edward C. Bolton, son of Charles Herbert Bolton and Lena Barrows.1,3,2 Ruth Irene Whitaker lived in 1997 at Hebron, Maine.4 On 6 January 2001 at Auburn, Maine, Ruth married Arthur Windecker.1,2 According to her obituary, "She first began teaching in a one-room school in Gill, and taught first grade in Northfield, MA, for over 30 years. She received the Weigand Teachers Award in Northfield. She was a former member of MA Retired Teachers Assoc., Franklin County Retired Teachers Assoc., Delta Kappa Gamma, Eastern Star, Fortnightly Club, Trinitarian Congregational Church, all of Northfield, and High Street Congregational Church of Auburn. Formerly of Northfield, she moved to Maine in 1991 to be closer to her family. She took great pride in her vocation as a teacher in Northfield and reveled in the growth of her students. A strong and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends."2 Ruth Irene Whitaker died on Friday, 9 November 2007 at Auburn, Maine, at age 97 years, 7 months and 15 days.2
