Luke Delvey was born on 28 November 1831 at Warwick, Massachusetts.1,2,3 He was the son of Samuel Town Delvee and Rebecca Stockwell.1,2,3 On 22 November 1864 Luke married Lovice Adelaide Spear, daughter of Silas Spear.4 Luke Delvey and Lovice Adelaide Spear appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Warwick, Massachusetts.5 The Delvee records of 1915 speak of him thusly, "He was of the quiet, unassuming disposition and always lived in his native town. He was quite a successful lumber dealer.3" Luke Delvey died on Tuesday, 5 January 1915 at age 83 years, 1 month and 8 days.2,4 The gravestone inscription at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Massachusetts, reads:
