Ruth Hoffman was born on 8 February 1921 at Beaumont, Texas.1,2 She was the daughter of Stephen Charles Ballou and Mattie Stivner.1,2 Ruth and Leo met when Ruth was 13 years old, and they wed the day after she turned 18.3 Ruth married Leo Desormeaux.1 In May 2000, she suffered a stroke leaving her unable to communicate or take care of herself.3 Ruth Hoffman died on Sunday, 10 March 2002 at Groves, Texas, at age 81 years, 1 month and 2 days.4,2
