     [Tribe of Peter]. Arthur Leonard Thayer Jr. was born on 25 June 1910 at Cambridge, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Arthur Leonard Thayer and Florine Isabel Delvy. On 22 June 1941 at the First Congregational Church, Rockland, Massachusetts, Arthur married Florence Mary Ferguson, daughter of Malcolm J. G. Ferguson and Lilla Watts. During World War II, he served the Army Air Corps as a corporal. On 28 February 1987 at Arlington, Massachusetts, Arthur married Helen (Lundin) Cox.2,3 According to his obituary, "a baritone soloist for several church choirs and former assistant town accountant in Needham.... He was a cost accountant for Bethlehem Steel at the Fore River shipyard in Quincy and worked in the comptrollers division at the State House in Boston several years before joining the Needham town staff. Mr. Thayer was former baritone soloist at First Parish Church, Unitarian, in Harvard Square, Cambridge, and First Unitarian Church in Dedham, soloist and choir master at St. John's Church in Jamaica Plain, and for 20 years soloist at the First Church of Christ Scientist in Rockland. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was born and educated in Cambridge and lived in Rockland 50 years. He made his home in Hanover and Florida for eight years. He was a graduate of the College of Music at Boston University.2" Arthur Leonard Thayer Jr. died on Monday, 1 May 1995 at South Shore Nursing Facility, Rockland, Massachusetts, at age 84 years, 10 months and 6 days.1,2 Arthur was buried on 4 May 1995 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.2
