Catherine (Rock) Whitaker at the 1999 Delvee Reunion
     Catherine Rock was born on 16 November 1923 at Amherst, Massachusetts, a twin.1,3,2 She was the daughter of Nicholas Rock and Amelia Smiarowski.1,2 On 31 October 1951 at Congregational Church, South Amherst, Massachusetts, Catherine married Carl Harold Whitaker Jr., son of Carl Harold Whitaker and Ruth Louise Rogers.1,4,5,2 Catherine Rock and Carl Harold Whitaker Jr. lived in 2001 at Bernardston, Massachusetts.1 According to her obituary, "She was educated in Amherst schools and was a graduate of Amherst High School. Catherine was a member of the Bernardston Grange and a member of the United Church of Bernardston. She attended the Bernardston Senior Center. She had been a resident of Bernardston for more than 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.2" Catherine Rock died on Monday, 16 July 2007 at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility, Greenfield, Massachusetts, at age 83 years and 8 months.2
