     Grace Idella Harding was born on 15 July 1871 at Warwick, Massachusetts.2,4 She was the daughter of George Harding and Ruth Melinda Delvey.1,2,3,4 Grace Idella Harding was listed in the household of George Harding and Ruth Melinda Delvey in 1880 US Census at Warwick, Massachusetts.5 On 18 April 1888 at Warwick, Massachusetts, Grace married Elmer Derby Whitney, son of Lysander S. Whitney and Lydia Ann Burnap. Allred (2002) gives their marriage place as Orange, Massachusetts.6,2,3 Grace Idella Harding and Elmer Derby Whitney lived about 1905 at 77 North Main Street, Orange, Massachusetts; Her niece, Ruth Esther Ward, lived with her when she went to Orange High School.6 According to her obituary, "Mrs. Grace I. (Harding) Whitney, 79, wife of Elmer Derby Whitney of 77 North Main Street, died at her home at 11:30 o'clock Monday evening following two weeks' illness. Mrs. Whitney was a native of Warwick, her parents having been George and Ruth M. Delvee Harding. She grew up and was married there to Mr. Whitney who had come from Vermont to work in the box shop in Warwick. They moved to Orange 58 years ago. ... Mrs. Whitney was a member of Adah Rebekah Lodge, and a contributor to the Universalist Church Unity club.2" Grace Idella Harding died on Monday, 28 August 1950 at 77 North Main Street, Orange, Massachusetts, at age 79 years, 1 month and 13 days.2,3,4 Grace was buried at Central Cemetery, Orange, Massachusetts.4
