     Clifford Elmer Whitney was born on 17 October 1893 at Orange, Massachusetts.1,4,2,3 He was the son of Elmer Derby Whitney and Grace Idella Harding.1,2,3 On 25 February 1919 Clifford married Alta May Blair, daughter of William Morgan Blair and Hattie Amanda Lasalle.1,2 Clifford Elmer Whitney lived in 1961 at Delmar, Albany County, New York.2 According to his obituary, "A native of Orange, Mass., and had resided in Delmar the last 48 years. Earlier he had lived in Albany for about four years. He was a teller with the Bankers Trust Co. of Albany for 38 years before retiring in 1958. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post, American Legion.2 He died on Friday, 22 September 1972 at Veteran's Administration Hospital, Albany, Albany County, New York, at age 78 years, 11 months and 5 days.4,2,3 Clifford was buried at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany County, New York.2
