Kenneth Whitney - 1946
     Kenneth Lincoln Whitney was born on 20 March 1927 at Pittsfield, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Harding Wheeler Whitney and Elise Berenice Regnier.1,2 Kenneth Lincoln Whitney graduated in 1945 from Pittsfield High School.2 During the latter part of World War II, he served on active duty in the U. S. Coast Guard from 21 February 1945 until 15 May 1946. On 11 December 1951, he was honorably discharged from the Coast Guard reserved as a Motor Machinists Mate 3rd Class.2 As a young man, he did woodworking, enjoyed skiing, and was an excellent ballroom dancer.2 He graduated in 1950 from Lowell Technical Institute.2 He lived in August 1950 at 27 Beverly Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts.2 On 26 August 1950 at Sacred Heart Church, Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Kenneth married Barbara Ann Goldsmith, daughter of Thomas Bartholomew Goldsmith and Loretta Louise Powers.1,2 According to Muse (2000), "He worked for various textile manufacturing firms during his career, mostly in operations and management positions. When his children were young, he travelled a great deal, and transferred his family to new cities as he followed his textile career. Eventually he started a consulting firm in which he helped smaller companies who were faltering.2 " Kenneth Lincoln Whitney and Barbara Ann Goldsmith lived on 21 February 1954 at Claymont, New Castle County, Delaware.2 Kenneth Lincoln Whitney and Barbara Ann Goldsmith lived on 18 May 1958 at 119 Tillman Lane, Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.2 Kenneth Lincoln Whitney and Barbara Ann Goldsmith lived on 18 May 1961 at Charlotte, Macklenberg County, North Carolina.2 Kenneth Lincoln Whitney was employed by American Enka Corporation of Enka, North Carolina between 1963 and 1968.2 He and Barbara Ann Goldsmith lived on 17 May 1964 at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.2 Kenneth Lincoln Whitney was employed by Textile Research Services, Raleigh, North Carolina between 1968 and 1974.2 He and Barbara Ann Goldsmith moved to Charlotte, Mecklenberg County, North Carolina, in August 1974.2 Kenneth Lincoln Whitney died on Thursday, 17 March 1988 at Pinehurst, Moore County, North Carolina, at age 60 years, 11 months and 26 days of lung cancer.2 Kenneth was buried on 20 March 1988 at Layfatte Memorial Park, Fayetteville, Cumberland County, North Carolina.2
