He was the son of Leo Joseph Roy and Gladys Gladwin.1 On 3 May 1942 at the Highland Congregational Church, Lowell, Massachusetts, Robert married Shirley Frances Woodman, daughter of Harry Lincoln Woodman and Ruth Esther Ward.2,1 Capt. Robert Gladwin Roy died on Tuesday, 3 May 1966 at Athol, Massachusetts, at age 46 years, 6 months and 28 days.3,4,5 Robert was buried on 9 May 1966 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.4
