Simon Peter Shepardson was born on 11 March 1819 at Warwick, Massachusetts.^4,1,2 He was the son of Jonathan Shepardson and Hannah Delvee.^1,2,3 Simon and Sarah Caroline Trim's marriage intentions were filed on 30 December 1843 at Warwick, Massachusetts.^1,5,2 Simon married Esther E Alexander.⁶ On 17 January 1876 at Ingham, Michigan, Simon married Ellen Rassman.¹ Simon Peter Shepardson and Ellen Rassman appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Springport, Michigan.⁷ Simon Peter Shepardson died on Saturday, 13 June 1896 at Onondaga, Michigan, at age 77 years, 3 months and 2 days. The Delvee records give his death as in Springfield, Jackson County, Michigan.^1,3 Allred (2002) has Simon Peter marrying Esther E. Alexander, the daughter of Elisha Brown and Mary (Brown) Alexander on 2 January 1867. Esther was on 1 February 1822 in Leyden, Massachusetts. She was buried in Beaver Meadow Cemetery, Leyden, Massachusetts. This would make Simon Peter having two wives at one time. Is there another Simon Peter?²
