- Obituary: 23 Jun 2016; CHESTER - Arthur E. Kingsbury, 75, a resident of Chester, VT., passed away peacefully at the Elm Wood Nursing Center in Claremont, NH on Thursday, June 16, 2016, following a period of declining health.
He was born October 31, 1940, in Chester, VT, the son of Francis and Bernice (Bingham) Kingsbury. He was a 1959 graduate of Chester High School. He proudly served our nation as a member of the United States Army.
He was a very hard-working man. He was also very compassionate towards people in his community and also to his family. Woodworking was also something that he enjoyed and that he was very gifted in.
He is survived by three sisters: Juanita Pollard of Chester, Patricia Kingsbury of Walpole, NH, and Virginia Ellis and her husband, John, of Rutland; his brother, Donald Kingsbury of New York, his sister-in-law: Linda Morrison Kingsbury of Ludlow and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by two brothers Ralph and Fenwick Kingsbury; and his brother-in-law, Charles Pollard.
A graveside service will be held in the Plain Cemetery, Perkinsville, VT, on Monday, June 27th at 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to call on the family at the Adams Funeral Home, Depot Street, Chester, VT, on Sunday, June 26th from 3 to 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elm Wood Nursing Center, Activity Fund, 290 Hanover Street, Claremont, NH. 03743.

He served three years in the U.S. Army and then began 38 years of employment with Bryant Grinder Corp. in Springfield, retiring in 2002.
He served as deacon at Ludlow Baptist Church and was responsible for videotaping Sunday morning services aired on Ludlow Public Cable Television.
Mr. Kingsbury enjoyed puttering on his property and singing with his wife as a church music duo.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kelly Kingsbury of Bellows Falls and Kristi Little of Chester; a son, Kevin Kingsbury of Rockingham; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; five siblings, Arthur Kingsbury, Juanita Pollard, both of Chester, Donald Kingsbury of Glens Falls, N.Y., Patricia Kingsbury of Walpole, N.H., and Virginia Ellis of North Clarendon; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Kingsbury.
The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, at Ludlow Baptist Church.
