    Text Ed was born June 28, 1925 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA and passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years of age at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on November 16, 2012. His career was as a school teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in various communities in Central and Northern Alberta, Canada. Ed was a member of the Masonic Fraternity serving in many local and district offices as well as a member of Eastern Star. Ed was a member of Al Azhar Shriners, Calgary, Alberta and Al Shamal, Edmonton, Alberta. He was a past president of the Battle River Shrine Club, Camrose, Alberta and the Red Deer Shrine Club, Red Deer, Alberta. Ed’s enjoyment in the Shrine was clowning and was known as ‘Stripes’. He was president twice of the Pacific Northwest Shrine Clown Association and president of the International Shrine Clown Association, Shriners International in 2005 – 2006. Ed will be sadly missed by his wife Doreen of Red Deer, Alberta; father-in-law Ron Holmes of Trochu, Alberta; aunts; uncles; and cousins of Doreen’s and a host of friends in Canada, USA and Mexico. Ed requested no funeral service and cremation was entrusted to Prairie Winds Funeral Home, Trochu, Alberta. Those who knew him everything was “Champion”.
