      BURLINGTON - John Nicholas "Nick" Rogers, 29, of Burlington, formerly of Vernon, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007. He was born Christmas Day of 1977 in Bennington. He attended Ver- Rogers non Elementary School and Brattleboro Union High School. In 1995, he met and later married Casey Miller of Northfield, Mass., with whom he had two children. In 2002, they separated, and shortly after, he moved to Burlington where he pursued his love for carpentry. He particularly enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking, camping, carpentry, conducting tag sales and anything involving nature. He is survived by his two beautiful sons, Kenneth Nicholas and Dylan Douglas Rogers and their mother Casey of Northfield, Mass., with whom he always maintained a strong friendship; his parents, J. Douglas and Elaine Rogers of Vernon, and Irene and Dean Wilges of New Lebanon, Ohio; two sisters, Dana Rogers of Vernon and Tiffany Rogers of Keene, N.H.; three brothers, Ron Rogers of Hinsdale, N.H., Adam and wife Melissa Rogers, also of Hinsdale, and John "JP" Dempster (and wife Shiloh) of Brookville, Ohio. He is also survived by his paternal great-grandmother, Beatrice Arial of Lantana. Fla., grandparents Beatrice Rogers of Lantana and John and Phyllis Rogers of Greenfield, Mass.; his maternal grandmother, Anita Passardi of North Adams, Mass., and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and countless friends. Funeral services will be held at KIDDER FUNERAL HOME, 1 Parker Avenue, Northfield, on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Farms Cemetery in North-field. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8p.m

She was born in Northfield on May 17, 1922, the daughter of Rollin and Lucy B. (Browning) Shearer. She lived her entire in Northfield. She attended the Northfield Farms No. 4 School and graduated from Northfield High School in 1939. She worked at the Valley Vista Inn, the Northfield Coffee Shop and Parts Manufacturing Shop in Greenfield. In 1940, she married Kenneth L. Miller Sr. In 1958, they started their auction business together and it grew into Ken Miller and Son Inc., where they held many area auctions and flea markets. She was a past member of the Northfield OES, and a member of the First Parish Unitarian Church and was chairwoman of many of their Christmas bazaars. She was a member of the Valley Button Club and was also a licensed real estate agent. She was an avid collector of antique buttons, postcards, art pottery and art glass. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Kenneth Lee Miller Jr.; a sister, Charlotte Shearer Lord and her husband Harold; and a brother, Robert Shearer and his wife Margaret. She was the beloved grandmother of Melissa M. Miller of Greenfield, Erin C. Schouler and her husband Kenneth of Englewood, Fla., and Kenneth Brandon Miller and Casey Lea (Rogers) Miller, both of Northfield. She was the beloved great-grandmother of Kyle, Alyson, Nichole and Jacob Schouler, and Kenneth and Dylan Rogers. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Ethel Carpenter of Northfield, Mary Miller of Winchester, N.H., and Telma Miller of Hinsdale, N.H.; a daughter-in-law, Wendy J. Miller of Northfield; many nieces and nephews, including Joyce Roberts of Bernardston, whom she was especially close to. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, Main Street, in Northfield. The Rev. Lloyd Parrill, pastor, will officiate.
