  "Clara Jean Shepardson Age 74, entered into rest September 3, 2005. Preceded in death by husband of 45 years James F. Shepardson, mother of three children; Jim Jr., John and Janice, and their spouses; Josie, Veronica & Tom; grandmother to Justin, Kaylee, Jason & Heather. Extended family; Erick Raich, Bob & Liz Liedtke and family; Bill & Mary Bull and their children Roger & Kathy; and the Johanson family. The family wishes to thank those who provided special care to Clara especially to Dr.'s Ronald Deibel, Alex Doan, Daniel Hwang, Ralph Stanley, Roge Jacob, Dodd Portman & Tao Nguyen. Homemaker, waterskiier, and had enduring love and devotion to her family. A member for 32 years in the extra-ordinary Belwood community. Beneficiary of wonderful neighbors, and the close friendship of the Cangemi family (and Marilyn's homecooking). Defied the odds in the many ways with her tremendous will to live, and did so with dignity. Life long commitment to her faith. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at DARLING & FISCHER'S CHAPEL OF THE HILLS, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos followed with private burial at Union Cemetery in Bakersfield." Published in San Jose Mercury News on Sept. 10, 2005
