  Leslie E. Bjorklund June 11, 1927 - August 13, 2006 AUBURN, MA - Leslie E. Bjorklund, 79, of Stoneville Heights, formerly of Springbrook Road, died Sunday, August 13th in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Betty C. (Ohrn) Bjorklund; a son, Kenneth R. and his wife, Christine M. Bjorklund of Oxford; a daughter, Sandra A. and her husband, Gregory M. Avakian of Dudley; a brother, Ronald and his wife, Sandra Bjorklund of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; also survived by six grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Ben, Kenneth, Nicole, and Bryan; one great granddaughter, Emma Bell; and 2 nephews, Alan and Erik. Leslie was born in Worcester, son of the late Elis and Alice (Rudman) Bjorklund and had lived in Auburn for 48 years. He graduated from South High School in Worcester. He later continued his education by receiving his B.S. Degree from Springfield College and Masters of Education from Worcester State College. He was a patriotic man and veteran, who served his country proudly with the United States Marine Corp during World War II. Mr. Bjorklund was a Physical Education Teacher for the Worcester Public Schools for over 30 years, having taught at both Chandler Junior High and North High School before he retired in 1992. He loved and cherished the time that he spent with his children and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Leslie's family on Tuesday, August 15th from 5-7 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 16th at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
